DIY Tutorial : Vintage Chair Makeover

As most of you know, I absolutely love getting a good deal (as most of you probably do if you are reading this blog).  I love surfing garage sales and goodwill for good furniture pieces. In my quest for a new dresser today I came across an interesting chair at Goodwill for $5.00.

After my mother’s bathroom update I had some left over Semi gloss white spray paint and fabric to use to give it a little refresh.

I wanted to share with you all this DIY Tutorial: Vintage Chair Makeover

FINISHED PRODUCT
All in all this update only cost me the amount I paid for the chair.
BEFORE

This chair was dirty and dingy. But after a good clean, a couple coats of paint, and a new seat fabric… it transformed. (It may be a little more drastic in person)

MATERIALS I USED
1) SPRAY PAINT – WHITE SEMI-GLOSS
2) STAPLE GUN
3) STAPLES
4) CRESCENT WRENCH
5) SCISSORS
6) FABRIC (APROX. 14″x14″ SQUARE)

SPRAY PAINT I USED (WORKS GREAT)

TAKING THE CHAIR APART

THIS CHAIR ROTATES SO TAKING IT APART WAS THE LONGEST PROCESS.

FABRIC I USED TO RECOVER SEAT – Clearance and Closeout Fabrics

All in all this update took me about an hour to do (Giving the paint time to dry between coats).

If you are looking to freshen up an old chair you have – I recommend this method!
