Welcome another amazing #30dayflip round up guest post from the lovely Sue Purdy.

October Challenge #30DayFlip Room Refresh Results

For the October #30DayFlip Challenge, the goal was to do a Room Refresh for a space that needed a little TLC. The group, hosted by Jeanette from Snazzy Little Things and Meredith from Arts and Classy, offers a monthly challenge that bloggers, DIY enthusiasts, and fellow creatives can partake in.

The month of October was a busy one, but many of the participants plowed through and completed their rooms with some serious style.

We start our tour with Susie from The Chelsea Project who transformed her sunroom in a spectacular space. I want to come over and curl up to read a book in there. It’s so warm and inviting.

Susie’s sunroom began this dark burgundy tone; but was brightened up using a creamy white paint. Way to go Susie for embracing the spirit of Benjamin Moore’s 2016 Color of the Year. Susie’s amazing vintage and antique furniture contrasts wonderfully with the modern creamy white toned walls.

Can I just say…..I’m completely smitten with her gorgeous vintage box spring wall decor. I LOVE how she has framed it out with the lamps and added the mirror and wreath in the center.

The other side of the sunroom features this cozy seating area, perfect for morning coffee, an evening glass of wine, or a game of scrabble with a friend. Those long drapes were made to fit the space, and started off as simple drop cloths.

The cow patterned cushions pair perfectly with the green toned seat cushion and rug. This sunroom refresh turned out fantastically. Great work Susie 🙂

Next on the tour is Kimberley’s kitchen, where she modernized the space and increased the overall function by adding storage and a breakfast bar.

Kimberley started by removing that wallpaper, and installed a butcher block breakfast bar. I love the high gloss that was applied to the butcher block.

A super cool galvanized shelf was also added above the breakfast bar to increase storage in the space, using plumbing pipes. This is a perfect storage solution for all those kitchen gadgets that aren’t used on a daily basis.

On the other side of the breakfast bar, Kimberley also added this adorable menu board/grocery list made from a vintage window frame. Wonderful update Kimberley 🙂

Let’s move over to Christina’s house, where she made over this spare room into a super cool playroom and reading nook for her kids.

Here is the Before pic. What a little cutie 🙂

The After. Awwwwww (choir singing).

The reading nook was custom made by Christina, and covered in a denim fabric. I just love all the adorable little owls scattered around the room.

The other side of the room houses more toy storage, and makes it easy for the kids to put their toys away since everything is within easy reach. The cute signs featuring the kids names were made by their grandfather. Great work, Grandpa!

That amazing green shelf was purchased at a yard sale for $5.00, and Christina painted and distressed it with a lovely green toned paint. The backs of the shelves are covered in pages taken from a history book, and mod podged into place. What a perfect storage space for all the kid’s knick-knacks.

This next room refresh was completed by our own Meredith from Arts and Classy, who refreshed her bedroom in a vintage glam style.

That quatrefoil wallpaper in a rich charcoal color brings a sophistication and elegance to the space.

Lastly, is one of my projects from a while back, where I transformed an under the stairs storage closet into a reading nook with storage and shelving.
