I wanted to take a challenge and design a room 3 different ways using the same main pieces of furniture/decor.

Nothing was more challenging that designing a studio apartment space! At least in the beginning, it was hard. Now, it’s small studio apartment spaces like those that I enjoy designing the most. Why you ask? It’s the limited space! The square footage limitation allows me to flex my creativity muscles. I love making a living space feel bigger than it is! I love designing spaces with natural light and different color palettes. Using textiles like curtains, and area rugs to make a studio apartment feel like home.

1. INDUSTRIAL GLAM

I love the bold and vintage vibe that Hollywood Regency gives off. My inspiration for this design was to add a touch of glam an old Hollywood vibes. I wanted to add a calming feel with some natural elements. Using vertical spaces in limited space allows for additional storage spaces and prevent clutter from appearing. Wall space doesn’t have to be bare. Floor space doesn’t have to be empty. Adding shelves, greenery, and division with the spaces is a great plan!

3. INDUSTRIAL ECLECTIC

This type of design is very bold and colorful. I love adding some vintage or metal accessories to a design like this. The colorful sofa and area rug would be the main focal point of this design concept. Highlighting the living room space with extra storage. Adding a room divider helps to separate the space to identify the purposes of each part of the studio apartment.

All in all, you can be very sophisticated and look high-end on even a student’s budget.
