4 Materials you will need:
See it’s pretty simple and inexpensive.
After spraying this mirror facade with a couple coats of primer (allowing it time overnight to dry) I then sprayed it with 2 coats of the metallic gold spray paint.
After letting the mirror dry for an extended period of time, I peeled off the painter’s tape and then styled it in my accent wall collage.
Here is the gold accent wall collage.
First I decided to lay my options out on the floor to figure out the configuration that would work.
But, this is what makes this exercise so successful.
I knew gold accents were the direction I wanted to got in, but with a beautiful wall collage, some texture and dimension were needed.
The trick is finding a variation and yet a happy medium. You do not want there to be a heaviness to the collage. Keep in balanced, which is what I tried to accomplish with the smaller items.
Then comes the hanging portion of this exercise. You can do this in a variety of ways. I chose to use a hammer, nails, cordless power drill, and screws because I am not afraid of a bit of spackle and sanding when I move out of this place.
As a renter, I am fearless when it comes to decorating. Some cautious renters try to use command strips or double stick tape to hang decor, but with the heavier pieces {like the shutter and the mirror}, that technique wasn’t going to work. Thus the heavy-duty materials. Here is what it looked like in progress after the painting of the accent wall.
